Who is this DJ Shrewsbury?

In the beginning many many years ago on a small planet called Earth there were people walking around doing their thing, and then suddenly I was born, a little tiny, itty bitty bouncing baby boy about thirty pounds, or was it eight??? My memory is just not what it used to be. Ok, lets get serious.

My name is David James Shrewsbury. I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in the year 1946. My parents, older sister and I moved to Tucson, Arizona when I was one year of age. My older brother had died a few years before from a respiratory problem and now I also had the same issue and my parents were instructed by their Doctor to take me to a dry climate for my health. Welcome to Arizona.

It seems to me my entire life has been consumed on seeking after spiritual things. My mother told me even when I was little I was always seeking a connection with God, always looking at the sky and wondering where He was. Of course at the time I did not realize what any of it meant until God Himself brought me to the truth by His written Word.

After finishing elementary and high school in Tucson. I went to college, caught Valley Fever a common illness in Arizona. After two and a half years I had to drop out because my illness left me unable to continue my studies. I eventually went back to school and graduated with a degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Around thirty years of age once again I became ill, this time with Hepatitis-C and have lived with this liver destroying disease since then. Hep-C turned my condition from chronic to end stage liver disease. When it became stage four, end stage cirrhosis I went on liver transplant list and began workup for surgery. During the workup I was found to have a blockage in my heart. I was told my heart couldn’t handle the liver transplant due to the blockage and would seize. The heart bypass surgery I needed could not be done due to liver not being able to handle the stress of the surgery. I was given six months to a year possible to live.

At the time I had two small sons that needed me. I was a single father and because of my love for them, family, and desire to live I had been praying to God for many years for Him to help. At this point I just did what the doctors suggested and started planning funeral arrangements and paperwork for my sons to live with their older sister. I was heart broken being a believer in miracles and it looked like I was not going to get one.. This illness was the start of my constant prayer, conversation and relationship with God. Yes, I did get my miracle and many wonderful things have happened by His hand from my heart blockage disappearing to blood results becoming normal to a turn around in my liver and many other medical conditions.

I am now able to take a motorcycle ride with my boys once a week and to think 10 years ago I was unable to do anything but sit in a chair. The story can be finished in my book “Getting A Miracle-Light Covering Darkness”, a book that will touch hearts with Gods love and healing in spirit and physical. It has won the ChristianStoryTeller.com “Best Unique Devotional of 2006” as three fourths of the book is a devotional of poetry of my conversations, prayers and wisdom I have learned in relationship with the living God. My second book "Horse Sense" Insight For Todays World has just won the "Best Christian Philosophy poetry of the Year" award. An enjoyable book for sure.

He healed me and that is why I wrote my first book "Getting A Miracle - Light Covering Darkness". This is just a brief glimpse into who I am. Of course my new book "Horse Sense"-Insight For Todays World"  is also a book giving glory to God in many venues of life, from humor to serious, to political to end times.. I was just honored to win "Best Christian Philosophy poetry book of the Year" with "Horse Sense", I am just so honored to be able to share what I know of God with you all. May He bless you.  I will be putting an assortment of poems from inspirational, to children’s, to the miracle blessings of God with reviews on for you to enjoy.
